Bobby Charles Vann's Obituary
Bobby Charles Vann, 60, of Sachse Texas, departed this life at his home on Monday, April 10, 2017. He was born in Dallas, Texas on June 23, 1956, to Charles Edward Vann and Paula Jean Vann. He grew up in Garland, Texas, and graduated from North Garland High School. He pursued a career in building maintenance engineering and excelled using his many talents in his field. His greatest joys in life were his daughter Rebecca and granddaughter Karah. While these two girls were his pride and joy, it was his lifelong love, Deborah Wood Vann, whom he shared his life with as his wife and soulmate. They were married in 1976 and rarely apart, spending 41 years as husband and wife. Bobby gave himself to his family. His devotion was ever present in the selfless giving of his attention and support. When he wasn’t working, he dedicated his free time to family obligations and time with his loved ones. And there were many. Bobby’s light-hearted approach to life was infectious, and he always found the humor in most circumstances he encountered. He loved baseball, the Texas Rangers, and his horses, which he cared for many years. But above all, he will be remembered for his fierce dedication to his family and his kind soul. As a father, son, grandfather, husband and brother, he left an indelible mark on all those who loved him. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Deborah Wood Vann, his daughter Rebecca Vann Hansen and husband Logan, and granddaughter Karah Lynn Hansen He is also survived by his father, Charles Edward Vann, his brother Ronald Dennis Vann and wife Sharon, and preceded in death by his mother Paula Jean Vann. In addition, he is survived by his nephew Jason Vann and wife Mitzi, niece Amy Adams and husband Chris, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service for Bobby will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 3:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
