Bonita L. Mayfield's Obituary
Bonita L. (Smith) MayField, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on May 12, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas of complications of congestive heart failure. She was born on October 17, 1938 to Earl E. Smith and Bonnie B. (Arner) Smith in Duncan, Oklahoma. She married Kenneth Mayfield on August 24, 1956 in San Benito, Texas. She was an Assistant Nurses Aide at Flour Bluff Junior High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was a great joy for mom to be a member of the Sweet Adelines, Female Chorus Group in Corpus Christi. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She was also the daughter of a Church of Christ preacher and lovingly referred to this as being a “P.K.”, preacher’s kid. She was so very proud of this, living a life of service, kindness, and love to all she came in contact with. Singing was in her blood; for a time, her voice graced the female chorus group from Corpus Christi, The Sweet Adelines. Her great joy was family, to whom she was devoted and loved fiercely. She poured her heart into their care and was sure to say “I love you” every day. Of course, her greatest earthly joy was her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Mayfield. They were still as much in love today as the day they married. Love stories have no ending.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Mayfield, and her children, Teresa Mayfield Farrow, and Pamela Mayfield Osborn and spouse David Osborn. Also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Joseph Osborn, Liza Osborn Amicone and spouse Jared Amicone; Jared Farrow and spouse Ahalee Cathey Farrow; Abbey Farrow Morgan and spouse Parker Morgan; Garrett Farrow and spouse Samantha Puente Farrow; Stefanie Farrow Tebo and spouse Dean Tebo and their children Joshua and Harper Tebo. Bonita is also survived by her brothers; Don Smith and Jon Smith and wife Gwen Smith as well as her sister Ramona Jones and her husband Norman Jones.
