Bonnie Blake Anderton's Obituary
ANDERTON, BONNIE (BLAKE) was born on April 11, 1924, passed away peacefully at her care residence in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 3, 2013 after a period of declining health. Born in Mankato, Minnesota, she graduated from Case Western University and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank during World War II. Married April 27, 1946, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, James “Bill” Anderton. Besides raising three children and being a devoted mother, she was a tireless volunteer throughout her life and touched many hearts in her community work with East Dallas Cooperative Parish, Sunday School President, President of Newcomer’s Club of Dallas, superintendent of preschool at Lake Highland’s UMC and the Dickenson Center. She enjoyed reading, traveling and was an accomplished bridge player. She was a long time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. She will forever be remembered by her surviving children, Andy Anderton, Rick Anderton and Barb Reid along with her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom she found great joy in loving. She was a people person and will be remembered and missed by many friends, family and others that she touched and blessed in her life. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Graveside service to be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, in Restland Memorial Park.
