Bonnie Helen Buchanan's Obituary
Bonnie Helen Buchanan of Heath, Texas, born to John and Mary Jo Shepherd, on October 8, 1923 in Lone Oak, Texas, passed away on July 24, 2021.
She married Frank Buchanan on September 25, 1942.
She was a business woman and a front runner in the antique silver business. In 1959, she started "Copper Lamp Antiques", which later evolved in to an antique silver shop dealing in fine china and crystal. She was among the first pattern matchers for silver, and was renowned nationally, as an expert in her field.
A fashionista who loved her family, bible study, animals (especially chickens) and summer musicals at Fair Park. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall for 55 years. Helen was a proud citizen of Heath, Texas since 1956.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother (John E. Shepherd).
Helen is survived by her children- Su Ellen Compton (and husband Dewayne), John Buchanan (and wife Tanya); Donald Buchanan (and wife Vara) Grandchildren- Amanda, Beth, Alexandra and Adie; Great Grandchildren- Dylan, Shelby, Katie, Preston, Bonnie and Landon; Sister-in-law, Sue Lain Harrington; Nephews- Johnny and Jimmy Shepherd.
