Bonnie Jerolyn "Jerry" Shaw's Obituary
SHAW, BONNIE JEROLYN “JERRY” achieved heavenly healing on March 28, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born at Galveston, Texas on September 16, 1930 to Elbert William and Edna Lorene Paschetag. She was always proud of the label “Born on the Island”. She graduated from Teague High School in 1948. She married James Richard Shaw on July 21, 1951. Jerry loved her Lord, her family and her life. Her patriotism was unfaltering and she was proud to be an Air Force wife. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved music of all kinds, especially spiritual music. She found great comfort from classic hymns. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, along with many aunts and uncles. Left to cherish her memories and love are her children; Ricki and Jerry Gooch, Jay and Tracey Shaw and Lee and Laura Shaw. Also left with sweet memories are her grandchildren: Grant Gooch, Catherine Crutcher, Ashley Waller, Lauren Burns, Evan Shaw, Olivia Shaw and Will Shaw. Her great grandchildren, Blaize Shaw, Camy Shaw, Evie Vineyard and Linley Waller, will hear stories of her love and devotion to her family; and her brother, E.W. (Bill) Paschetag and sister in law, Carol. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. She will be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers’ Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be most appreciated.
