Bonnie Quast's Obituary
Bonnie W. Quast, age 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 16, 2017 in Coppell, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Quast, her son Robert Michael Quast, her brother Carter Wootton and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Carole Hlozek and husband John of Cypress, Texas; daughter-in-law Cheryl Quast of Coppell, Texas; five grandchildren Michelle and Amy Hlozek both of Cypress, Texas; Robert Michael Quast II of Coppell, Texas; Stephanie Fleischer and husband Scott of Tyler, Texas; Allison Roth and husband John of Flower Mound, Texas; and two great-grandchildren Anna Claire and Camden Fleischer of Tyler, Texas.Bonnie was born August 31, 1929 in Lockhart, Texas to Alvin and Minnie Wootton. She graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas and married Robert Quast of Yoakum, Texas, a few years later. They moved to Dallas where Robert was involved with the Dallas Independent School District for many years. She worked as an executive assistant before staying at home after the birth of her children. Later in life she became a licensed real estate agent and broker. She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dallas before retiring to Coppell, Texas, where she and Robert lived at Christus St. Joseph Village and made many friends. She enjoyed playing bridge and bingo and absolutely loved playing games with her family, especially the grandchildren who she taught a lot of new games to challenge her on. She loved spending time with family which was very important to her.The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20th, in the Broderick Room at Christus St. Joseph Village in Coppell, Texas, prior to the funeral service which will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel, Pastor Micah Miller of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Texas officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Robert.The family would like to thank the staff at Christus St. Joseph Village for all the years Bonnie lived there and all the care both the staff and their home health team showed her and Chuponda Walker who was her caregiver and friend until the end. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Bonnie’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Wounded Warriors Project or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Texas.
