Bonnie Louise Sheridan's Obituary
SHERIDAN, BONNIE LOUISE PRICKETT of Wylie, Texas passed away at age 100 on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She was born October 13, 1913 in Commerce, Georgia to Marshall Terrell Prickett and Pearl Pruitt Prickett, both native Georgians. She was their only child. For 68 years she was the devoted wife of Mark M Sheridan, Jr. who died in 2006. Bonnie was as deeply loving to each member of her large family as they were to her. Survivors include her daughter Anne and husband Terry of Wylie; and son Mark and wife Diane of Taylor Lake Village, Texas. Bonnie is also survived by grandchildren Lynn and husband Chris of Colleyville, Texas; John of San Jose, California; Elizabeth and husband Joe of Pasadena, Texas; Sara and husband Nathan of Sachse, Texas; Sherry and spouse Dallas of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Karen and husband Roger of McKinney, Texas; as well as great-grandchildren Lainie and Luke, Abigail, Reid and Brady, and Scarlett. She will also be deeply missed by Nathan’s parents Tom and Barbara, as well as long time care givers and neighbors Jani and husband Nick, and Jennifer, along with caregivers Mychele and Lani. Bonnie took Business courses at Piedmont College in the early 1930s and then began working in the distribution of movies to theaters in Memphis, where she met and married her husband in 1937. Beginning in 1941 with the birth of their daughter Anne, Bonnie became a full time mother as her husband’s career took the family to Atlanta, Daytona Beach, New Orleans, Dallas, Seattle and finally Denver, where Mark retired in 1975. Beginning in 1991, to spend more time with their daughter and her family, Bonnie and Mark became part-time and then, in 1998, full-time residents of Wylie. Bonnie and Mark were long time active members of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity in Plano, a group that became a second family to them. She was also an enthusiastic member of the church’s Red Hat Society for many years. A funeral/memorial service will be held at 2 :00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2013 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity, 2200 18th St, Plano, TX. A previous private interment ceremony for family members was held at Restland Cemetery in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bonnie’s memory may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity, 2200 18th St, P.O. Box 860467, Plano, TX 75086-0467 to help them with fundraising for a new organ.
