Boun Dee's Obituary
Boun Dee was born on September 5, 1932 in Muang Pho Ca, Luang Namtha, Laos. He served as a sergeant in the Lao Royal Military from 1961 to 1975. In June of 1965, he married Khien Dee and they share five children. They have two sons and three daughters, Kit, Khamdee, Von, Pheng and Houmphanh.
In October of 1980, Boun and Khien were part of a refugee program and with the sponsorship of Mr. Richard Brown and Ms. Mary Ann Lee of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, they were blessed with the opportunity to start a new beginning in the United States of America. With nothing more than the clothes on their back, and a strong language barrier, Boun and Khien built a home for their family in Dallas, Texas.
With the assistance of Boun’s church family, they guided him on how to obtain job opportunities in order to provide for his family. He spent his entire life building a strong foundation to set his family up for success. Without his strong will and determination their life in America would cease to exist.
Boun lost his battle to End Stage Renal Disease but he put up a long brave fight. He passed away peacefully with his entire family by his side. He leaves behind his wife, five children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many friends.
Boun lived and breathed his family and they will spend the rest of their time remembering and honoring him.
