Boyd Leroy Justice's Obituary
JUSTICE, BOYD LEROY “JOHNNY”, 86, of Dallas, TX, passed away on July 17, 2010, peacefully at home following a brief battle against an aggressive liver tumor. He was born July 16, 1924, near Greenville, SC, to Roy Nixon and Pearl Cody Justice, the second of six children. After his mother’s death, his father remarried and they added five more children for a total of 11. After his father’s death, his stepmother remarried and they added two more children to the family tree. He served proudly in the Army’s Eighth Air Force as a B24 tail gunner, flying 35 missions between September 1944 and April 1945. After the war, he returned to Dallas, where he worked in various jobs and met and married Anita Smith in May, 1956. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anita; two sons Greg (Joyce) and Gary (Kristi); four grandchildren Jeff (Sara), Amber Hastcoat (Kevin), Cameron, and Kasi; two great-grandchildren Elizabeth Justice and Connor Hastcoat, two brothers Donald (Wanda) and Andrew (Shirley), sister-in-law Melody, stepsisters Jenny Pate (Johnny) and Edna May Caldwell (Frank), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 20, 2010, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Greenville Avenue at Restland Road. Funeral services will be held in the Memorial Chapel on Wednesday , July 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., with David Tarbett and Bud Gifford officiating, followed by a brief graveside service in Restland’s Garden of The Cross.
