Brenda Fay Grubbs' Obituary
Brenda Fay Grubbs, age 75, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at her home, in Garland. She was born to the late Houston and Naoma Bell, of Judsonia, Arkansas on June 22, 1944. She is preceded in death by her brother Dwight Bell, sister Jane Bell, and her son Steven Grubbs. Brenda grew up in Judsonia, Arkansas and fell in love with the outdoors. In high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and later attended the Arkansas State Teachers College to earn a degree in elementary education. For 8 years, she was a full-time teacher. Brenda first met her future sweetheart, Larry, in the hospital nursery where they were born in 1944, but it took them 22 years to find each other again. The couple married June 3, 1967. She left Arkansas to join her husband in Alaska during the last year of his service in the US Army. She was very active in her church, attending bible studies, and teaching Sunday School. Her hobbies included flower gardening, playing tennis, and riding a bike. Brenda was an exceptional cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. She had a vivacious personality and loved to laugh. She made friends everywhere she went. Brenda is already dearly missed by her family and will forever be in our hearts. Brenda was blessed with a large and loving family. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Larry Grubbs, daughters Tammy Hollon and her husband Douglas of Aubrey, and Angela Grubbs of Garland. She loved her role as Grandma to four grandchildren, Alysha Payne, Elayne Garrick, Sarah Crook, and Jordan Fenton. She had 10.5 great-grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at 11 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243.
