Brenda Gail Johnson's Obituary
Brenda Gail Johnson was born on May 13, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away with loved ones gathered around her at her home in Arlington, Texas, on November 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Opal Pierce, father Loyd Vaughan, dearest older sister Jimmie Cupp, and her two precious nephews Jackie Don Cupp and Jodie Cupp. Brenda had been courageously battling breast cancer for the past six years. She had many surgeries, countless rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, yet always had an upbeat spirit and smile on her face. All of her nurses fell in love with her positive attitude and will to fight. She never allowed the cancer to hold her back or keep her from doing what she loved. Brenda is survived by her brothers Billy Vaughan, Terry Vaughan, Mike Vaughan, Robert Vaughan, and Rick Vaughan; loving sister Trisha Norris; sister-in-laws Gloria Vaughan, Darcey Vaughan, Jay Vaughan, and her BFF Colleen Vaughan; brother-in-laws Jim Norris and Jackie Cupp; two caring sons Randy Johnson and Michael Johnson who she absolutely adored; daughter-in-law Chelsea Johnson; five grandchildren Meranda, Kohen, Connor, Emma, and Ian, whose pictures filled her home; along with seventeen nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces and nephews who she loved very much; and the love of her life, Billy Duke, who spent the past eleven years by her side, and when asked what he meant to her it would only take four words, “God Gave Me You”; along with the loving care she received by Brooke Weeber, whom she adored completely. Brenda’s personality was inspiring to be around. She always kept a beautiful smile on her face and lived life to the fullest. She taught us all so much and will be truly missed. She is now at peace and is no longer fighting the pain. The visitation for Brenda Johnson will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Brenda will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Newman Park Christian Church located at 7922 Fairport Road, Dallas, TX 75217. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
