Brenda Lorene Smith's Obituary
Brenda Smith was born October 2,1952 and passed away April 20,2017 after a brief illness. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from H. Grady Spruce HS. Brenda then joined her father, Jerry Smith, in the family grocery business. After selling the business, Brenda worked for Garland IDS for the past 25 years. She loved the people she worked with and the special children she interacted with daily. She was known for her love of traveling, especially anywhere with a beach; a love for animals and most of all love for her family and friends. Brenda is survived by her brother, Wayne Smith and wife Sharon; first cousins Sheila Smith Woolverton and husband Jeff of Terrell, TX and Linda Pierce and husband Buddy of Poetry, TX; many second cousins she considered as her children; very special friends Kathy Moore, Tina Bernal, goddaughter Naomi Bernal, and numerous friends and extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, 2017, 6:00PM-8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Brenda’s service will be April 28, 2017, at 10:00 A.M in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.StJude.org.
