Brenda Joyce Townsend Britton's Obituary
BRITTON, BRENDA JOYCE TOWNSEND long time resident of Garland, TX Our beloved passed away Aug. 3, 2011. She was born on Nov. 16, 1940 in Dallas, TX. Brenda, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, cherished time with family and friends. She took great pleasure in family gatherings and entertaining. She was an elegant lady, who delighted in simple pleasures. Many were touched by her encouragement, kindness, sense of humor and loving nature. Brenda married J. Larry Britton in Garland, TX on July 6, 1962. She worked in various jobs including real estate before becoming an office manager for Dunlop Tire Corporation. Bethel Baptist Church played an important role in her life and she adored her church family. Brenda will be remembered by her loving children; Alisa Habenicht and her husband, Paul; Amber Etchieson and her husband Todd, and Chad Britton; and her sister, Doris Stinson. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren; Evan, John and Zach Habenicht, Leah Etchieson and Kylie Britton. Predeceased in death by her husband Larry Britton, sister Rosie Hayes, brother Bobby Townsend, and her parents Neil and Gertrude Townsend. Visitation will be on Sunday (8/7) from 4:00-6:00PM. A funeral service will be on Monday (8/8) at 10:00AM at Restland Funeral Home.
