Brenda Turnipseede's Obituary
Remembering a Life of Laughter and Love
Brenda Turnipseede lived a beautiful life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her genuine warmth and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She entered Heaven on June 11, 2023, at age 71 in Houston, Texas.
Brenda Binkley was born in Victoria, Texas on July 1, 1951, to W. C. and Louise Binkley. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Baylor University, where she met the love of her life, Tommy Turnipseede. They were married on August 4, 1973, and this August would mark their 50th wedding anniversary. She and Tom had four children whom she loved dearly – Kyle, Brent, Ashley, and Sarah.
Her kindness and love for others was infectious. She was an incredible woman who selflessly gave her time and attention to anyone in need. Her servant heart showed through everything she did in her family, church, and communities. As a teacher, Brenda had a gift for connecting with her students and a natural ability to encourage the best in all of them.
Brenda was a creative and talented artist. Many will remember her beautiful hand-painted crafts, flowerpot art, and festive holiday creations. She loved working in her backyard garden and would often spend her day from sunup to sundown in her “happy place”. She adored her three grandsons and watched them all take some of their first steps in that very backyard. She spoiled them as often as she could, just as her mother, Louise, spoiled her grandchildren. She built a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will bring us joy for generations to come.
Brenda is survived by Tom, her loving husband of 49 years and three of their children: Kyle and his wife Debby, and their two sons, Finn and Jack of Dallas, Texas; Brent and his son, Brayden of Denver, Colorado; and Sarah, of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Binkley and his wife Patrice; and brothers-in-law Jim Turnipseede and his wife Jayne; and Charles Hickman and his wife Patsy. Other survivors include many nephews, nieces, and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Louise, as well as her precious daughter, Ashley.
