Brenda Elaine Turpin's Obituary
On September 7, 2019, Brenda Elaine Turpin was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be with God the Father. She was born in Dallas on September 27, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel E. McMahan and Tressie McMahan and her sister Joyce McMahan.Brenda is survived by her husband Michael E. Turpin, two sons Kevin Turpin and wife Kathy, Matthew Turpin and wife Leigh Ann; four grandchildren, Emily, Natalie, Jake, and Josh; three caring sisters-in-law, Carol Turpin Bennett, Pam Turpin Crocker and husband, Mark Crocker, Fran Turpin, and brother-in-law, Ron Turpin, and extended close family of nieces, nephews and cousins.Brenda was a devout and faithful Christian; for many years she and Mike were active in the Munger Place United Methodist Church, until no longer able to participate. She loved to read and write poetry and stories. She also spoke and tutored students in Spanish. For some years she worked in the Registrar’s office of Perkins School of Theology, SMU.Services will be held at Restland:Visitation for Ms. Brenda Turpin will be on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Colonial Garden in Restland Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory. Funeral arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243.
