Brenda Elizabeth Witte's Obituary
Born October 9, 1936 in Jasper, Texas and passed away May 9, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by her parents Donald and Ethel Smith, her sisters Patricia Stamps and Joanne French. Survived by: husband Charles Witte, daughter Kellie and her husband Ron Rode, son Don Witte and his wife Lucy, her grandchildren Ryan Rode, Rachel Rode Janss and her husband Bobby, Katie Witte and Charlie Witte, sister-in-law Lois Hoyle and many nieces and nephews. A beautiful person in every way, Brenda was raised to be a strong, Southern Belle. She remained close to her many friends from her school years in Jasper and Beaumont. She was a competitive ballroom dancer, winning many awards along the way. She was voted Most Beautiful, rode in the annual Rodeo Parade on her horse Betsy, and honed her entertaining skills with her two beloved sisters. Brenda was introduced to Charles Witte in 1961 and they were married for 53 years after a 6-week courtship. Together they enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, entertaining, gardening, and raising their two children. Brenda managed a 30-year career with Cigna Insurance Co. while raising her children. She had so much joy from her children and grandchildren and instilled the values of family and traditions to each of them. Brenda always had time for anyone who needed her. She had the most precious friends who were a constant source of support to her and Charles during her last few years. We are forever grateful for the love and support of her friends and the congregation of Walnut Hill United Methodist where she was active in the woman’s circle and the Round table Sunday school. May you rest in peace, Mom, Nana, we will miss you. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Walnut Hill United Methodist Church, 10066 Marsh Lane, Dallas, TX 75229/or the charity of your choice.
