Bret Stuart Wiggins' Obituary
Bret Stuart Wiggins, 72, of Richardson, TX, passed away on September 5, 2024.
Bret was born on August 5, 1952, to Joe and Elizabeth Wiggins in Montebello, CA. Bret studied Radio, TV and Film at the University of North Texas. After deciding his first major was not a profitable one, he studied accounting, obtained his CPA and went on to work for BancTec until he retired as the manager of the accounting department.
While at UNT, he met Karen Sicking. Bret and Karen married on August 16, 1975. They went on to have two children, Matthew and Ryan.
Bret enjoyed taking vacations with his family and taking his sons on dirt bike excursions. He, Karen, Matt and Ryan loved skiing together, as well as visiting the family beach house in Port Aransas, where Bret taught his sons to bodysurf and boogieboard. Bret spent decades practicing Ta Chuang Do and achieved his third-degree black belt. Bret had a special place in his heart for dogs, and treated his own dogs like they were his children.
After retiring, Bret spent his time riding his Harley Davidson, learning the piano, and caring for his parents. He loved spending time with his five grandchildren. He particularly enjoyed watching them play sports and attending special school events.
Bret was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Betty; his wife, Karen; and his brother, Bruce. He is survived by sons, Matthew (wife Claire) and Ryan (wife Sheri), his grandchildren, Luke, John, Adam, Riley, and Reese, and his brothers, Brian and Brad.
The family of Bret Wiggins will receive visitors from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home.
