Bruce Calvin Stover's Obituary
Bruce Stover passed away unexpectedly on July 13 following a short but valiant fight against cancer. Born on January 31, 1953, Bruce was a native Dallasite and the son of Jerry S. Stover and Maxine Stover, both of whom predeceased him, and the stepson of Juanita A. Stover, who also predeceased him. A graduate of San Marcus Academy and of the University of Texas, Bruce was for more than 20 years on the staff of both the University of North Texas in Denton and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Widely read, politics was his first love, followed closely by all things to do with aviation. A person with a large and open heart, Bruce will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his brother Sterling Stover, stepsister Laura Homer and stepbrother Bob Locker, and cousins Ron Webster, Stephen Webster, Betsy Hamilton, Mike Shroyer, Doug Shroyer and Indy Blaney, as well as numerous great nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6.30 to 8.00 PM at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, with his Service being at 12.00 noon on Friday, July 22, 2016 in The Abbey Chapel, also at Restland. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas (www.flightmuseum.com)
