Buddy Ray Chastain's Obituary
Buddy Ray Chastain passed away from natural causes while in his sleep, on the evening of July 4, 2016, in McKinney, Texas. Bud was born in south Dallas, the son of W. W. “Jack” Chastain and Esther Florence Chastain. He spent much of his life in East Texas and in Corpus Christi, Texas. Bud served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He held a degree in Law from Saint Mary’s University, passed the Bar Exam on his first try in 1960, and practiced law in Corpus Christi for many years before retiring and moving back to the Dallas area. In his free time, he loved hunting, travel, and following current events in the news. Throughout his entire life, he was devoted to his family and to helping others who found themselves in a wide variety of predicaments. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Sandra Sue Chastain, a mathematician by training and originally of Carey, Ohio. He is survived by two children, Sharon Chastain and Clint Chastain, DVM with wife Sue Chastain, as well as by two granddaughters, Alexandra Chastain and Miranda Chastain. Bud will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. In accordance with Bud’s wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated, and at a later date yet to be determined, laid to rest beside those of his wife Sandra near Dola, Ohio.
