Buford Henry Carter, Jr. born June 13, 1937 in La Grange, Georgia passed away April 22, 2016 in Richardson, Texas. Buford was a graduate of Georgia Tech where he received an electrical engineering degree. He served as First Lieutenant of the signal corps of the United States Army. He was employed by Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas for 38 years as an electrical engineer. He was a Registered Professional Engineer, and an inventor with ten patents. He was a devoted husband of 58 years. He spent many hours volunteering at Cornerstone Baptist Church. He also served others in the community with his trouble shooting and handyman skills. He loved to tinker in his garage and workshop and loved all his many tools. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Richardson. Preceded in death by his parents, Buford Henry Carter, Sr. and Mary Rosalind Carter; his son, Bill James Carter. Buford is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Jane Carter; brothers, Grover Carter of Newnan, GA, Michael Carter of Katy, TX; sons, Ted Allen Carter of Austin, TX, Larry Wayne Carter of Evans, GA; daughter, Ann Cheri Carter Cody of Allen, TX; granddaughter, Kara Carter Peters of Roswell, GA; grandson, Alex Raymond Carter of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Beth Ann Carter of Augusta, GA, Dana Michelle Carter of Augusta, GA; grandson, Eric Allen Carter of Richardson, TX, Christopher Andrew Carter of Richardson, TX; granddaughter, Alyssa Caitlin Cody of Allen, TX; grandson, Trey Carter Cody of Allen, TX; granddaughter, Melody Meibao Carter of Austin, TX. The service for Buford Carter, Jr. will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Richardson Building Fund.
