Nita Green's Obituary
Green, Buna Juanita (Nita) was born on May 16th, 1931 in the small east Texas town of Lone Star to James and Blanche (Andrews) Tinker. She was the second of four girls. After graduating high school in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Nita moved to Dallas to work. It was on a blind date on New Year's Eve 1949 that Nita met William (Bill) Green, her future husband. Nita and Bill were married on October 13, 1950. Early in their marriage Nita worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses and later as a homemaker and mother to four boys. In 1957, Bill and Nita relocated to Richardson, where they raised their four sons, Michael, Jon, Kelly, and Phillip. They soon became members of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson and were active within the church and the Pathfinders Class. Nita was also active in PTA and the education of the four boys. She enjoyed swimming and taught swimming lessons for adults. She and Bill enjoyed square dancing with the Texas Reelers for many years. Nita passed away on February 12th, 2024 after a short illness. She was 92 years old. Nita was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her youngest son Phillip, her sisters Eva Bolling, Margie Thomas and Bobbye Holden. She is survived by her sons, Jon, Kelly and Mike, Mike's wife Karen, three grandchildren, Justin, Chris, and Taylor and three great grandchildren, Jeven, Isabella and Ashleigh. Nita lived her life in accordance with simple Biblical values. She was a servant to God and spent most all of her days taking care of her husband and family. We never doubted for one moment just how much she loved us, and we will miss her every day. A memorial service will be held for Nita at 3:30pm on Thursday, February 22nd at The First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and The First United Methodist Church of Richardson.
