I was sad to hear of Byron's passing. We grew up together on Mingo Street in East Dallas, spending countless hours on his mom's front porch, playing Monopoly from dusk until dawn. I remember one Christmas mornings when all the kids outside early in the morning showing off their Christmas gifts with our new bikes, skate, skateboards and Byron would balling with his green machine, Big Wheel, which we all wanted to ride.
As we grew older, Byron stood by me as the best man at my wedding, and my wife and I became the godparents to his first daughter, Destiny. Life took us in different directions, but just days before his passing, my wife showed me a picture of Byron with his siblings, and I planned to reconnect. Sadly, I received the news of his passing just a short time later.
Thank you to Mrs Ruby, Duck, and the entire family for sharing him with me. He was like a brother to me; the Brock family was my second family. I feel blessed to have shared such wonderful experiences during my childhood—condolences to the family. God Bless!
