Mr. Byron Herschel Forester's Obituary
FORESTER, BYRON HERSCHEL – Age 58, of Dallas, Texas, passed away suddenly on February 19, 2012, at his home. He was born on May 23, 1953, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Bill and Ann Forester. Byron’s first ten years of life were split between living in Dallas and Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was in Green Bay where he cheered for his father and his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1971, and from Dallas Baptist University in 1975, with a business degree. He worked as a title abstractor for almost twenty years. Byron was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Dallas, where he accepted Jesus as his Saviour at the age of ten. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, and Diet Dr. Pepper. Byron had an incredible memory for details of games, scores, and events. He would light up a room with his great smile and infectious laugh. Byron is survived by his mother, Ann Whorton Forester; brother Mike Forester of Birmingham, Alabama, and wife Jan; sister Danell Sims, of Paint Rock, Texas, and husband Billy. He is survived by his nephews and nieces: Matthew Forester and wife Kelly; Michael Forester; Daniel Forester; Elisabeth Forester; Rebekah Forester; Anna Forester, all of Birmingham, Alabama; Meredith Sims Powell and husband Clay, Camilla, Georgia; and Jacob Sims, Abilene, Texas. Great-nephew and great-nieces are: Jackson Forester, Landry Powell, and Katherine Forester. His extended family includes his three favorite uncles: Herschel Forester, Dallas; Don and Reta Whorton, Dallas; and Dan Whorton, Jerusalem. He loved family time with them and his cousins: Herschel Forester and wife Cindy; Suzanne Clarke and husband Steve; Mike Whorton and wife Sheri; and David Whorton and wife Claudia, along with all their children. Also surviving are longtime, close friend Mildred Brashear and caregivers Jose and Maria del Angel. Preceding Byron into eternity were his dad, Bill Forester, and aunt, Sally Forester. A celebration of Byron’s life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., in the Truett Chapel, First Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Dallas, or Dallas Baptist University.
