C. Sidney McClain's Obituary
MCCLAIN, C. SIDNEY Born December 30, 1920 in Cooper, TX and passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 12, 2012. He is a graduate of Greenville High School, Vanderbuilt University-Phi Beta Kappa, and the University of Texas Law School. Sidney served in the U.S. Army Air Corps (8th Air Force) during WWII. He practiced law in the Dallas area for more than 65 years, and was a member of the 50th Texas Legislature from Grayson County from 1946-47. Sidney was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church since 1948. Survivors include his wife, Myriam McClain; son, Sid McClain and wife, Davie; daughters, Dr. Jacquline Bass and husband, Clyde Amick, Rev. Laura Rothe and husband, Rev. Eric Rothe; grandchildren, Chaz McClain and wife, Paula, Travis McClain and wife, Deanna, Jon McClain, Stacie Bass, William Rothe; and great grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Ryan, Brandon, Caleb, Sydney, and Bethany McClain. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm, Monday, October 15th at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 16th at Park Cities Baptist Church-Ellis Chapel, 3933 Northwest Pkwy in Dallas. Memorials may be made to Park Cities Baptist Church Choir or the charity of your choice.
