C. Richard "Rick" White's Obituary
C. Richard “Rick” White, 71, passed away surrounded by his family on October 13, 2017 after suffering a catastrophic stroke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Luise White. Rick graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964 where he was the star quarterback. He went to Southern Methodist University on an athletic scholarship and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Rick went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree at SMU law school. He was on the staff of the Law Journal before graduating at the top of his class all while on scholarship as a coach of the SMU freshman football team. He practiced law for several years before accepting a job with Republic Title where he had a long successful career and made many lifelong friends before retiring after 33 years. He is survived by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Nancy. He is also survived by his sons Ryan and wife Kasia, Neill and wife Kate, grandsons Riley, Mason, and Charles, as well as his brother Charlie and wife Charlotte, and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews. Rick and Nancy traveled the world together, but what they loved most was spending time with family and friends in South Padre Island, Texas. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Rick lived a life of commitment, love, and faithfulness. He cherished his wife above all, as well as his kids and grandkids. He was fiercely loved in return and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, from 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorial service will be Thursday, October 19 at 3:30 pm in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at approximately 4:30 pm at the Restland Event Center across the street from the funeral home.
