Calvin Presley "Bob" Owens' Obituary
OWENS, CALVIN PRESLEY “BOB” was born on May 2, 1939 in Celeste, Hunt County, Texas and passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Richardson, Texas. From age 1 to age 13, Bob lived in Anna, Collin County, Texas. In 1953, he moved with his family to Richardson, Texas, and remained there for most of the remainder of his life, living briefly in Florida and California in work related roles. Bob graduated from Richardson High School in 1957 and attended Texas Tech from 1957-1959. He worked at Western Electric Co. before joining the U.S. Army in 1965, returning home from Japan in 1967. Bob married Jeannine Johnson in 1989 and became stepfather to 4 wonderful children. As the years passed, their lives were filled with 10 grandchildren and now 5 great-children. Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannine Johnson Owens; his beloved son, Jerry Johnson Roberge; his beloved mother, Cecil L. Martin; and his beloved stepfather, J.R. Martin. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Klutts Goss and her husband, Don; two nieces, Angela Prochaska and Melanie Yungclas; a nephew, Jason Prochaska; daughter, Mona Moore and her husband, Chad; daughter, Joan Kearney and her husband, Bob; son, John Roberge and his wife, Kelli; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2:30 PM in Restland Memorial Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org
