Carlos Ray Mayes, 87, of Irving, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in Irving, Texas. He was born on Tuesday, December 1, 1931, to his loving and thoughtful parents, Charles Lee Mayes and Ruby Faye Borchardt in Dallas, Texas. Carlos married Shirley Lee Starnes on September 10, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. He was a golf course superintendent at Brookhollow Golf Club since 1966, and was employed there since 1947. He was a member of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Carlos is survived by his spouse; Shirley Lee Mayes of Irving, Texas, daughters; Sharon Mayes of Irving Texas, Beverly Weygandt of Irving, Texas, and Carla Garner of Irving, Texas, sister; Jenny Overby of Boerno, Texas, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many more beloved and cherished family and friends. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services for Carlos will be held at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Restland Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243
