Bernal, Carmen Born December 28, 1928 in Bryan, TX and passed away November 10, 2008 in The Colony, TX. She was very adoring and dedicated to her family; a good friend, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, caring for stray animals and cooking for her grandchildren. Carmen was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony and was very devout in her beliefs and in her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. Carmen was preceded in death by her son, Juan Zamora and husband, Joe Bernal. She is survived by her children, Lydia Bernal and husband, Tom Simpson, Ramon Bernal and wife, Maria, Joe A. Bernal, Jr., Beatriz Mitchell and husband, Daniel Helker, Sylvia Bernal and husband, Harold Kennemer, Rebecca Butler and husband, Jim, Fred Bernal and wife, Sylvia, and Daniel Bernal and wife, Jamie; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and sisters, Hortencia Villarreal and Beatriz Minde. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 11:30 AM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7000 Morning Star Rd., The Colony, TX 75056. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
