Carmen G. Rodino's Obituary
Carmen Agis Rodino, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Rittenhouse Assisted Living in Garland Texas where she lived with her loving husband Eladino who recently passed away in February of 2017. Carmen was born in Moca, Puerto Rico on September 27, 1931, one of thirteen siblings of Petra Rivera Hernandez and Augustin Paradis Gomez. Carmen came to New York in 1947 and lived with extended family relatives. Working in various industries from clothing manufacturing and food processing, Carmen eventually worked as an electrical assembly supervisor for LORAL, Martin Marietta, and AIL. She met her loving husband, Eladino Rodino in NYC, where they were married in 1951. After living in the Bronx, NY they moved their family to Brentwood, Long Island where they resided till 1994 when they retired to Frisco, Texas to be closer to family. Carmen was known for her resourcefulness and responsible for bringing six of her brothers to New York from Puerto Rico. She helped each of them get settled when they first arrived. She was a caring and loving Mother, always working to ensure that family needs were met. Her generosity was felt throughout the extended family in many ways and her home was always open to family and friends. Carmen loved to travel and instilled that spirit of adventure with her children traveling throughout the US, over to Europe and the Caribbean. Carmen is survived by her daughters, Emily (Thomas) Wahl and Elizabeth Agis; son Edward (Susie Aguayo) Agis; grandchildren, Michael Agis (Rebecca Cedar), Robert Agis, Carolyn (Greg Kogan) Agis, Carlos Agis-Manzanares, Jacqueline Wahl, Stephen Wahl, great grandchildren Lucia Kogan. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 5th, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in the Wildwood Chapel at 3:00 PM with Father Javier presiding over the service. Internment will immediately follow. The family will greet friends at a viewing from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home.
