Joyce Willen Boyd's Obituary
Carol Joyce Willen Boyd, age 87, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
Joyce was born on November 19, 1936, in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Joe and Rae (Littrell) Willen. Joyce started her career working for various non-profits including the ARC, Juliet Fowler Home and The Suicide and Crisis Center. She worked for most of her career as a legal administrative assistant. Most notably for William Elliot, esq. for over 15 years through various law firms and retiring from Bill’s private practice. Joyce was a Licensed Texas Real Estate Broker, Bonded Notary Public and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) as well as Past President of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives-Dallas. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed reading and sewing, but most treasured time spent with family and friends whom she was completely devoted.
She was preceded in death by her Parents Joe Willen and Rae Littrell Willen, her husband Bernie Boyd and oldest son David Boyd. She is survived by five of her six children, Carol Boyd Morris, Richard Boyd, his wife Melissa Boyd, Stephen Boyd, Cindy Boyd Wilkerson her husband Merlin Wilkerson and Don Boyd and his fiancée Angie Antonelli.
Grandchildren Makenzie Morris Hill and her husband Cody Hill, Christopher Boyd and his wife Fatemeh Boyd, Nick Boyd, Jake Wilkerson, Billy Wilkerson, Emily Wilkerson, Mason Wilkerson, Conner Boyd and his wife Rachel Nelson “Nelly” Boyd, Pierce McSwiggin, Shelby McSwiggin and Reid McSwiggin.
Great Grandchildren George Hill, Maxwell Hill and Micah Boyd.
She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, local animal shelter, or the charity of your choice.
