Carol Anne Rogers' Obituary
Carol Rodgers died Monday, March 28, 2022 at Briarview Memory Care Facility in Carrollton, Texas just 3 days after her 89th birthday.
Ms. Rodgers was born Carol Anne Christensen in 1933 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to parents Velma and Ezra (EJ) Christensen. She graduated from the University of Wyoming, Laramie in 1955 with a B.A. in Commerce. Later, while working at IBM, she met her future husband, Ron Rodgers, and they eventually married and lived happily outside of Dallas for many years.
As a lifelong lover of music, Carol was an avid piano player. She and her younger sister, Sharon, shared this love of music and singing and enjoyed conversing about their experiences of both being members of Sweet Adelines, despite being states away from each other.
Carol walked daily and played tennis and golf throughout much of her life, inspiring those who knew her to live active and healthy lifestyles. She also made time for fun, and she and Ron traveled to Las Vegas often, where they enjoyed taking advantage of the delicious buffets and seeing the ever-changing sights.
Carol is survived by her only sibling, sister Sharon Silva, and her two nieces, Terri Johnson and Rene Sherwood and their families. Her husband, Mr. Rodgers, preceded her in death.
