Caroline Blandine Neywick's Obituary
She was preceded in death by her husband Everett, her daughter Ann Mertens and a grandson Brett Mertens. She is survived by her son, Kenneth and his wife Joan, four grandchildren; Kenneth Neywick III and his wife Kim, Greg Neywick and his wife Angela, Steve Neywick and his wife Laura and Randall Mertens and his wife Tammy. She has three great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born in Kansas to farm life during the Depression, she was the oldest of four daughters and had to help raise the family after her father died in 1926. Caroline attended four years of nurses training in Salina KS. She married Everett Neywick in 1934 and eventually moved to Evansville, IN in 1941. While there, she was an office manager and dental assistant for oral surgeon, L. R. Weiss. She raised two families; a son and daughter of her own and then two grandchildren when her daughter became severely ill and was unable to live on her own. She was always active in the church and local community and when she and Everett retired to Cadiz, KY, she became a founding and charter member of the Rockcastle United Methodist Church. She was also a founding member and treasurer for the Trigg County Volunteer Fire Department. She was well known and liked by everyone she knew.
