Carol was born on October 29, 1944, to 1st Sgt Leslie Owen and Mary Emily Buchanan, and has since brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Tom Goodson; daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Goodson, stepson, Tommy Goodson; sister, Sharon Pemberton; brother, Mike Buchanan; and an extended, loving family of friends, aunts, cousins, and grandchildren. A passionate and proud nurse for over 50 years, Carol believed there was no greater calling than caring for others and embodied strength and empathy for all under her charge, whether patient, family, friend, or animal. Her unexpected passing reminds us that the imprint of her love and support cannot be overstated and will remain in our hearts forever. Although she is no longer in our physical presence, we know she will always be championing her belief that strong women should run this world!
The family welcomes those who knew and loved Carol to attend a visitation service on Friday, August 02, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Tx., from 10:00am – 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carol’s name to the Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in Taos, NM., an organization that she has passionately supported for many years.
