My Mom was the funniest person out of all the Greers, she had about an 80/20 rate 80% of the time was laugh with the other 20% laugh at and she would laugh just as hard if not more! ?? There are so many stories to share but if you've ever watched I Love Lucy front to back you just might get it. Strong, independent, smart, and the list goes on but when studying for a short time on some of our Fathers attributes, I realized my Mom showed me by example This amazing Love; Agape Love and it changed me! ?? I feel so grateful that Mom and Izzy brought me up here to help out… we were steeped in love laughter and hope, the hope for the greatest reunion with all who have passed and most of all to be there with or Lord and Savior Jesus! ??

I'm so glad that I got to know my grandma as an adult when we lived together. She was so kind and funny and just an incredibly strong woman.In the first anthropology class I ever took we had to interview someone for a life history. I chose my grandma. She grew up in Dallas in the 1950s and then moved all over the country and overseas while my grandpa was in the military. Even though she never finished her senior year of high school, she went back to business school as an adult. She owned a real estate agency that she ran for almost 20 years in Canyon, Texas before moving back to the Dallas area where she spent her remaining years with us. As an anthropologist, we collect stories and it was so interesting to hear hers and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to do that with her. I'll miss you, grandma.

What immediately comes to mind was her humor, she always made us laugh. She would tell us her take on everyday stories, with that twinkle in her eyes. But she'd start laughing so hard before she could finish the entire story. The stories were funny, but her delivery made it so much more, and we would have to laugh, because she was so animated. One of the stories that she kept alive was "The Tea Incident" Living at the time in Okinawa, my mom, my two brothers, we kids all under 5 sitting on the porch singing, waiting for my dad to get home from work. My mom had just put a pot of water on the stove with her tea bags to make iced tea. As we sang and laughed and played time got away from us and my mother raised up very quickly. She had forgotten her tea. We raced to the kitchen and she looks on the stove and all around. "Where's my pot? Where's my tea? Where did that hole in the stove come from?" All that was left inside the newly formed hole was an aluminum bubble the size of a plum. Her tea had been reduced to ashes and the stovetop had melted when the tea bag label caught on fire. For years that aluminum bubble traveled with us from place to place and resurfaced when unpacking only to have mom retell and embellished that story to make us laugh.
