Carolyn Dorough Langlotz's Obituary
Carolyn Dorough Langlotz, 78, of Plano, Died Thursday, May 12, 2011. Born March 30, 1933 to William and Roxie Dorough, Carolyn graduated from Bowie High School. She attended Bethany Peniel College and received her Bachelor of Science of Education and Masters in Counseling and Psychology from the University of North Texas. She became a Licensed Counselor and Psychological Associate. She married Wilburn Barry (Bill) Langlotz in August 1954. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Virginia Elaine Nelson, her three children; Kim Chancey, Kathy Langlotz and Richard Langlotz, four grandchildren and one great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson. Carolyn taught honors English at Richardson High School and was a counselor at Berkner High School until she retired. She had a deep love for helping her students. Carolyn had a wonderful talent for allowing persons she encountered to feel they were the center of her attention. To make a visit even more uplifting, she would ferret out the often unrecognized characteristic that would help people see themselves in the best possible light. Many of us left her presence with heads held higher and spirits lifted when all that was expected was friendly chatter. Carolyn has been an active member of Arapaho United Methodist Church for many years where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. The Burial Service will be held at Restland, 13005 Greenville Ave, in Dallas on Monday, May 16 at 9:00am. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00a.m. at Arapaho United Methodist Church at 1400 W. Arapaho Rd, Richardson.
