Carolyn McDaniel Meier's Obituary
Carolyn McDaniel Meier was born to A. B. and Edith Snipes on July 24, 1928, in Santa Anna, California. She was raised with her three brothers, Thomas Gordon, Henry Gene, and Freddy Lee in Decatur Texas. She attended Decatur High School where she was a cheerleader. (Go blue, go white, go tigers, fight, fight, fight!) She attended Decatur Baptist College, where she met her future husband E. M. (Pat) McDaniel. Carolyn and Pat were married for 53 years and had three sons: Danny Michael, Philip Baxter, and Christopher Patrick. They had six grandchildren; Sarah, Paige, Patrick, Andy, Alex, Adam; five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Once her son’s moved out of the home, Carolyn became a teaching assistant for special education students. She was awarded the Texas State Teaching Assistant of the year during her career.
After Carolyn’s husband Pat of 53 years passed away, she reconnected and fell in love with HF Meier, her former Methodist Minister and good friend. They were married for eight years until his passing in 2010. During their eights together they traveled the world visiting many countries.
Ten years after H. F. passed in 2010, Carolyn moved from Granbury, TX to Richardson, TX to be closer to family.
Carolyn passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 4, 2024.
Carolyn was loving and loved by everyone who knew her. She will be missed.
