Carolyn Sue Prince's Obituary
Carolyn Sue Prince was called home by her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, after a fall on her 88th Birthday. She peacefully passed in the hospital, surrounded by her adoring and adored family. Carolyn was born Carolyn Peeples in Corsicana, TX on October 12, 1934, to Louis Henderson Peeples and Gladys Eula Peeples. The elder sister of David Peeples, she and the family travelled and moved often, as her father followed the work as a Master Welder. Carolyn graduated Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Ok. Carolyn worked to put herself through college at The University of Tulsa where she met the love of her life, Lewis Prince. They married on September 2, 1958. Carolyn graduated with a Fine Arts Degree in Art in 1959.
Carolyn put her talents in art to work for Lewis in his career in fashion, assisting him with everything from signage to store design. Carolyn’s life was centered on the home, her children and her church, Prestonwood Baptist Church, where she and Lewis had a deep and abiding love for service and generosity.
Carolyn designed four homes in which the family lived through the years. Her talent and eye for beauty were central throughout her life. Carolyn lived in the moment. She was curious about everything and delighted by much. She asked endless questions. She loved clouds, landscapes and the colors and textures of leaves. She unfailingly stopped to admire the roses. Carolyn deeply loved and appreciated everyone around her, and always had a kind, well placed word for those in need of help and comfort. She and Lewis were each generous to a fault with their time, efforts and money.
Carolyn is survived by a loving and broken-hearted family: Brett Prince, his wife Lisa, and children, Schaefer and wife, Jori, recent great grandchild Karra, Rylie and Dodge; Her son, Robert Prince, preceding her in death in 2021, his wife, Stacy and daughters Emmaline and Madeline; Her daughter, Dana McGlothlin, her husband, Scott, and son, Henry. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, her brother, David Peeples, and infant son, David Dee Prince.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Prestonwood Baptist Church (6801 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the same location.
