Mrs. Carolyn Thomas' Obituary
THOMAS, CAROLYN LAMON, born December 28, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Millsaps College, in Jackson, Mississippi in 1955, and became a transplanted Texan that same year. The following year she married Hughston Thomas of Dallas, Texas. She has been a long time member of Casa Linda United Methodist Church, holding many positions of leadership there. She was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Son Shine Ministries, Azle, Texas. In 1980 she wrote a devotional book entitled ‘Walk and Not Faint.’ She went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2006. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Mary Lamon of Memphis, Tennessee, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hughston Thomas, sons, Stuart and Scott Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Liz Thomas, two granddaughters, Kelly and Erin Thomas, one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and R. B. McClung of Jonesboro, AR, one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Cookie Lamon of Germantown, TN, six nephews, one niece and their spouses, eleven great-nephews and great nieces. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2006 at Restland. Service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Restland’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. J.I. Minor officiating.
