Warnick, Carolyn June's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Carolyn June Warnick
June 28, 1936 – September 21, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and love that we share the passing of our beautiful mother, Carolyn June Warnick, who departed this life peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Born in Waverly Hall, Georgia, on June 28, 1936, to Levis and Ernest Whatley, Carolyn lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Carolyn faced many challenges in her final years, enduring multiple strokes that gradually took away her ability to walk and speak. Yet through it all, she remained incredibly strong and brave, a quiet warrior whose spirit never wavered. Her courage was a testament to the depth of her faith and the strength of her heart.
She is now at peace, embraced by the love of Jesus, free from pain and suffering. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is whole again, her radiant smile shining in heaven.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dara Marchefski Harris, in 2010. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen Marchefski Kalm, and Karen’s children: Andrea Kalm Poteet and husband Trey Poteet, along with their children Cade, Cody, and Penny Poteet; and Karen’s son, Brandon Kalm and his wife Audrey Kalm. Carolyn is also survived by her son Jeff Marchefski and wife Terri Marchefski; her daughter Jan Marchefski Prentice, and Jan’s children Annie Prentice and Drew Prentice. Carolyn’s extended family includes her stepson Scott Warnick and wife Susan Warnick, and her stepdaughter Leslie Warnick Donavan and husband Harris Donavan, along with their children Owen and Emio Donavan. Carolyn is also survived by her brother-in-law Phil Warnick and wife Bo Warnick, and their children Ryan Warnick and wife Jessica Warnick, their children, Madi, Ryder, and Harper, Amy Warnick, and her daughter Maya, and Ashley Warnick and her sons Cash and Knox.
Carolyn’s life will be celebrated with a Celebration of Life and Thanksgiving Service at:
First United Methodist Church
1928 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75201
Monday, September 29th at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary
We invite all who knew and loved Carolyn to join us in honoring her life, her legacy, and the joy she brought to so many. Her memory will live on in our hearts, in our stories, and in the quiet moments when we feel her love surrounding us.
We love you so very much, Mom.
—Karen
