Carrie Mae Boykin Adams was born to Martin Boykin and Florence Jones Boykin on September 23, 1943 in Jewett, Texas.She attended school in Teague, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961. She joined First Baptist Church South Teague at an early age and was a faithful member until she moved to Dallas, Texas after graduating high school. She immediately began working in private home and continued working until her health failed.She married Henry Adams, Jr. in December 1965. One daughter was born to this union.Carrie enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling. She attended United Christian Stronghold Church, and Path of Righteousness Ministries.Carrie departed this life on Friday, September 27, 2019.She is preceded in death by her grandparents Henry Boykin and Classie Robinson, parents Martin Boykin and Florence Jones Boykin, Husband Henry Adams, Jr., daughter LaTosha Adams, Sisters: Willean Richards, Jearline Blakley, and Ruby Watson.She leaves to cherish her memory: two sisters: Arlessia Wilkes and Ethel Lloyd (Anthony). Nine nieces: Sherri Lampkin (Fred), Verlinda Collins (Byron), Yolanda Brown, Debra Mack (James), Renita Blakley, Sharon Blakley, Pamela Richards, Cassandra Richards, Vicki Richards-Torres (Antonio). Two nephews: Charles Barkins (Jean), and Mark Richards. And a host of great and great-great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Visitation for Ms. Carrie Mae Adams will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:30AM at Restland Funeral Home.
