Carrie Williams' Obituary
Carrie Carter (Banks) Williams, 91 of Dallas, Texas died on February 10, 2021 as a result Alzheimers. She was born on February 23, 1929 to Walter and Minnie Banks of Howard, Texas near Waxahachie, TX. She married Troy Williams on June 30, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. During her working years Carrie was a secretary and administrative assistant for various organizations including the Adleta Company, Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church of Dallas and the Killingworth Insurance Agency. After ending her working career Carrie became an avid golfer playing at the Dallas Athletic Club for 43 years and in various Women’s Golf Associations across the State of Texas. When her golfing career ended she loved playing Bridge, Gin and Bunco with her friends at DAC. She made her only hole-in-one in 1978 and never let Troy forget it. Her favorite golfer was Ben Crenshaw and she would never miss an opportunity to yell Hook’ Em Horns even though both her grandkids were Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Carrie is survived by her oldest daughter Mrs. Barbara Horner of Dallas, son Scott Williams and wife Leigh of Dallas and daughter Susan Schillerstrom and husband David of Garland, Texas. Carrie had two grandchildren Jeff Williams of Dallas and Shelby Schillerstrom of Garland.
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband Troy Williams, son-in-law Garey Horner, parents Walter and Minnie Banks, by sisters Sally “Peaches” Stoffregen and Estelle “Dutcie” Shirley, by brothers John Banks, Walter “Bully” Banks, Billy “Hoppy” Banks, Hugh Banks and Lawrence “Pokey” Banks. Carrie was lovingly referred to her numerous nieces and nephews as “Aunt Sissy”.
