Carvel Ray Stricklin's Obituary
Carvel Ray Stricklin, 89, of Tyler, Texas, passed away Sunday January 17, 2016 in Tyler. Carvel was born in Krum, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served his country in the Navy and was assigned to the Ship LST 898. He was a Mason and a leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Carvel is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Magie Stricklin, brothers; Oscar, JB and Hershal Stricklin, sisters; Juanita Duckworth and Odessa Stricklin, son Ronnie Jones. Carvel is survived by his wife Helen Stricklin of Tyler, brother; Harold William Stricklin of Tyler, son; Nick Stricklin and wife Donna of Southlake, daughter; Belinda Brown and husband Kevin of Alba, daughter-in-law; Marion Franke and husband Bruce of Conroe, grandchildren; Isac Franke of Montgomery, Sarah Stricklin of The Colony, Lauren Stricklin of Dallas, Tanner Brown of Mineral Wells, Railey Brown of College Station and multiple great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Southern Oaks Baptist Church, 601 E. Amherst Street, Tyler, Texas 75701. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at Southern Oaks Baptist Church. Graveside Services at Restland Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at 3:00 P.M.
