Casey Mattasolio King's Obituary
Casey Mattasolio King, aged 43, was born in Dallas, Texas on July 24th, 1978, and passed away on July 23rd, 2022. At the time of his death, he was living in Ft. Worth, Texas.
A heart condition that worsened quickly and developed into congestive heart failure over the past eight months resulted in his untimely death.
Casey was raised in Rowlett, Texas where he played baseball, football, was involved in gymnastics and was on a competitive swim team. Having too many different jobs to count in his youth he turned to emergency care working as an EMT. Casey joined the Army National Guard early 2006 and was trained as a Combat Medic at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 124th Cavalry, Charlie Company.
His service as a combat medic was in a designated imminent danger pay area, service in Kuwait/Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was deployed for a one-year period until he was honorably discharged at the end of 2009. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device.
The brightest star in his life was his daughter, Eva Marie King, whom he cherished and loved with his entire being.
Casey was trained as a chef from Cordon Bleu Dallas in 2012. After graduation he worked at The Mansion in Dallas under Chef Bruno Davaillon and various other well-known chefs in the Dallas area as well as Grace in Fort Worth.
Becoming a stay-at-home dad to Eva was his biggest blessing, able to attend all school functions, watch Eva grow and be the silly fun dad.
Aside from cooking, gaming, hunting, and hanging out with other former veterans who called him “Doc”, Casey enjoyed most of all telling silly dad jokes. He never tired of them.
Preceded in death by his biological father, Anthony Watts Mattasolio; grandparents, Julian Mattasolio Jeanette Mattasolio, from Tyler, Texas; grandparents, Jimmie L. Wardlow and Jean Wardlow, from Mesquite, Texas.
