Cassie Marie Phifer's Obituary
Cassie Marie Phifer, of Dallas, died peacefully in her sleep. She entered God’s Kingdom on April 4, 2023. Born to Sylvester and Christine Crear on March 17, 1944 in Quitman, Texas, Cassie was the oldest of three children. Upon graduating high school, Cassie married Robert Phifer Sr. on June 9, 1964. To their union, Robert Jr. and Eric were born. Cassie spent more than 25 years as a collections manager at Citibank. She was a dedicated employee, loving wife, grandmother and friend.
Affectionately known as “Nana” to all her grandchildren, sons, and their friends, Cassie spent much of her spare time attending all their athletic events, spoiling them at sleepovers, and cooking all their favorite foods--including her famous enchiladas and chocolate cake. Cassie was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching any and every sport that came on tv. And oh did she love to shop, buying every new gadget to hit the market. Cassie loved entertaining friends and family on her massive deck, serving drinks to everyone…all the while SHE herself was not a drinker. Cassie also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends, even though she was not fond of sand, walking distances or being too hot. She also was a dedicated member of Hamilton Park United Methodist Church. She loved to serve others.
Cassie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Wedgeworth. She is survived by her sons, Robert Phifer Jr. (and spouse Rebecca), Eric Phifer (and fiancé Sara Hormaza), grandchildren Brittney, Briana, Jordan, Alexis (Lexi), Kennedy, Ariele Robinson and great grandson Kaine Kirkendall; her brother James Crear and spouse Gilda. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including Anthony Brown, Randy Wedgeworth, DeeVonia Wedgeworth Cayce, and James Crear Jr. (Red). She also is survived by a long list of close friends who loved her as well.
