Catherine Faye Vaughan Bankston, born February 1, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. Passed away on April 6, 2015 Mesquite, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Major Homer Franklin Bankston, USAF; mother and father, Ura Pauline Kerr Vaughan and Gordon Lee Vaughan, Sr. Two brothers, Gordon Lee and James Gorin Vaughan; five sisters, Marcella A. Smith, Gladys A. Taylor, Lillian E. Whitsitt, Pauline Vaughan, and Nora L. Henry; one grandson, Zack Guraya. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Bankston and Cathy Gail Bankston Crosby (James); one granddaughter, Tonya Renee Riels (Raymond); three great grandchildren, Christopher Ray, Jessica Renee, and Alexandria Leigh Riels; two great-great grandchildren, Jacie Deanna and Joseph Ray Davis. Two sisters, Betty R. and Doris Vaughan, five brothers, Walter L., Manford W., Robert N., George W., and Clifford M. Vaughan. Pallbearers – James B. Crosby, Raymond E. Riels, Jessica R. Riels, and Christopher R. Riels. The visitation for Catherine Bankston will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Catherine Bankston will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
