Catherine Carol Barnard's Obituary
Catherine Carol Barnard, 86, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Barnard; her father, A.E. "Buddy" Garrett; her mother, Hallie Mae; and her sister, Rita Passmore.
Catherine is survived by her sister, Freddie Busch; her son, Jeff Barnard; her daughter, Patty Johnson and her husband, Doug; and her cherished grandchildren, Cody Johnson and Brandi Barnard. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys, and she loved every moment spent with them, whether it was weekends, holidays, or simply quiet evenings together.
A dental assistant by trade, Catherine retired over 20 years ago, after many years of dedicated service. In her retirement, she found great joy in traveling to visit friends and family, and she was always eager to open her home to those she loved. Her home was a warm and welcoming place, often the setting for holidays and special gatherings, where she was the gracious host who made everyone feel at home.
Known for her selflessness and nurturing spirit, Catherine was a devoted mother and caretaker. She was always available to offer a listening ear or lend a helping hand, and her joy came from serving others. Whether caring for family or friends, Catherine's love and kindness knew no bounds.
Catherine was an integral part of her children’s lives, supporting her husband, Calvin, as he coached many of their sports teams. She often served as the scorekeeper and stats keeper, contributing to the family’s love of sports and teamwork. Catherine also treated her children’s friends as her own, and her love extended to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who were touched by her warm presence.
A memorial service will be held at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland, Dallas on April 8th at 2:00 P.M. A viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M in the chapel.
