Catherine Rylander's Obituary
Catherine Majure Rylander was born in Galveston, Texas on June 20,1934 to Ray and Catherine Majure. Catherine attended High School at Ursaline Academy in New Orleans, graduating in 1951 and going on to receive her RN from Charity Hospital in New Orleans in in 1954. She began a career in pediatric nursing at St. Lukes Texas Children’s Hospital, where she met her husband Bill, in 1956. They were married in Houston, Texas on June 1,1957. They began a family and Bills career with Texas Instruments brought them to Richardson in 1965. The family joined parish of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church where Catherine remained a devout member of her faith for the remainder of her life. Catherine was passionate about her family and her career in nursing, which developed a level of compassion that became evident to all whom she came in contact with. This compassion was carried over later in life as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Network of Community Ministries. Catherine passed away in her home of 57 years on February 15, 2017. She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty years, Bill; her sisters Carole (Zane) Anderson and Cathy Key, her five children; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and extended family too numerous to list. A Catholic Rosary Service will be held at 7:30pm Saturday February 18,2017. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:00 am, with a reception to follow. Both services will be held at the St. Paul Catholic Church located at 720 S. Floyd Rd. Richardson, Texas, 75080. In lieu of flowers her family has requested that a memorial donation be made in her name to: Network of Community Ministries at 741 S. Sherman St., Richardson, Texas, 75081 www.thenetwork.org.
