Cathryn Hart Woods' Obituary
WOODS, CATHRYN HART, age 77, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Monroe, LA, daughter of the late Clyde and Henrietta Hart, she spent her childhood in Monroe, LA and her teens in Alexandria, LA, graduating from Bolton HS. She married her husband of fifty-five years, James William Woods on December 6, 1958. Cathryn and Jim met while Jim was stationed in Alexandria, LA with the U. S. Air Force and married at Mitchel AFB, New York, afterward, traveling the world during Jim’s tenure in the Air Force. During the couple’s life in the military, Cathryn was an active participant of the Officers Wives Club helping those military families in need. It was her passion to help others and she was able to accomplish this by touching numerous people’s lives during her military and civilian life. Eventually she and Jim settled and raised a family in North Little Rock, AR. She worked as an executive assistant with Twin City Bank for a number of years. In retirement she loved being with family and enjoyed cross-stitching at her home in Irving, TX. Cathryn leaves behind her beloved husband, Jim with whom she raised four loving children; William Hart Woods and his wife Cindy of Arlington, TX, Steven Alexander Woods and his wife Kathy of Texarkana, TX, Kimberly Ann Brandt and her husband Robert of Clemmons, NC, and Dawn Woods Eiser and her husband Chip of Houston, TX. Her ten grandchildren (Katie, Willie, Alex, Brandi, Austin, AJ, Nolan, Cathryn, Billy and Sarah) will keep her memory alive in all that they do. In addition, Cathryn has a brother, Clyde Hart of Houston, TX and sister, Margaret Weeg of Moody, Alabama. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 9:30-12:00 p.m. with the funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m. at Restland Abbey Chapel. At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be made in Cathryn’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
