Catrina Turner Whitmire's Obituary
Catrina Turner Whitmire, 54, of Dallas, Texas passed away on November 1, 2018, in Dallas, Texas of breast cancer. She was born on September 13, 1964, to her parents Donald and Amanda Turner in Garland, Texas. Catrina married Darryl Keith Whitmire on April 17, 2004, in Dallas, Texas. She was a store manager at Foley’s for a number of years before becoming a stay at home mother. She was a member of United Methodist Church.Catrina was a devoted mother, wife, and daughter who always put the needs of her family first. Catrina was a 1986 graduate of Southern Methodist University and a 1983 graduate of Lake Highlands High School in Dallas. She met her husband, Keith, when they were students together at Lake Highlands Junior High, but they did not begin dating until they reconnected in 2003 and fell in love. Catrina spent the latter portion of her life devoted to raising her son, attending every one of his games and performances until her health declined. She made a joyous and loving home for her family. Catrina loved yellow roses, music, and dancing. As a child, she took years of ballet lessons and later was a member of the award-winning Lake Highlands High School Marching Band. She was a loyal supporter of her alma maters’ sports teams, as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. But…she was especially devoted to the Texas Rangers, never missing an inning.Catrina Turner Whitmire is survived by her husband, Darryl Keith Whitmire of Dallas, Texas and her son, Connor Keith Whitmire of Dallas, Texas, brother, Larry Turner of Lone Oak, Texas, sister-in-law, Vicky Turner of Lone Oak, Texas, nephews, Alex and Jack Turner, and mother-in-law, Mary Ann Whitmire. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Amanda Turner.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 11:30 AM at Restland Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Oncology Foundation.
