Cecil Garcia Ovalle's Obituary
Cecil Garcia Ovalle, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and veteran was born on June 16, 1949 and passed away at his home on June 17, 2017. Cecil will be forever remembered by his wife of 44 years, Denise, daughters Nicole, Jennifer, and Sarah, and son Cecil David and wife Kara. His grandchildren, Katherine, Hector, Natalie, Nathaniel, Nevin, Greyson, Kalen and Cora will remember their Lito with love. Cecil will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Violanda, Rosario, Mary Vasquez, Carmen and her husband Alex, Dorothy, Mary and her husband Hilario, Mary Ann and her husband Joe, Maria Elena, and his sister-in-law Rosario. Cecil’s memory will also be cherished by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Paz Ovalle, brother Robert G. Ovalle, sister Elizabeth Bernal, nephew Raul Gonzales, and niece Vanessa Ovalle-Fernandez. Cecil proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated and faithful member of the Catholic church, and loved to treat his family to brunch after mass together. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was often found cooking out and swimming with them during the summer. He worked for many years as a specialist painter for luxury vehicles, and enjoyed working on home improvement and car restoration in his free time. There will be a visitation Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM located at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel. Family and friends are invited to his Rosary and Funeral Mass on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church. A reception honoring his life will be held at 1:00 PM at St. Monica Catholic Church in the Family Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cecil’s name to UT Southwestern Medical Center or St. Monica Catholic Church.
